Food, Design Technology (DT) & Art Technician

Full Time Equivalent      £12.18 per hour

Hours of Work:                30 hours per week 8.30 to 3pm Mon to Fri

Contract Type:                 Permanent, Term-Time Only


The Role

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated Food, DT & Art Technician to assist within our Food, Design Technology, and Art departments.

Responsible to the Curriculum Team Leader, the purpose of the role is to provide support to all teaching staff in the Food, DT and Art departments. The post holder will prepare and provide all materials for lessons, ensure stock levels are maintained, ensure all health and safety regulations are adhered to, undertake administration tasks, cleaning of equipment and facilities, conduct regular checks of all Food, DT & Art equipment and support students and teachers on the practical elements of the curriculum.   The post holder is required to liaise with other Technician team members to ensure consistency of work tasks across the department.

The successful applicant must be willing to be trained in the operation and maintenance of DT equipment and machinery and must also have an understanding of food and food preparation.  The DT tasks include the requirement for occasional heavy lifting of materials/resources.
