Design & Technology
Introduction from Sara Knight
Team Leader: Visual Arts and Design Technology
In Design and Technology, we aim to provide a ‘well rounded’ experience of design and making, with a view to preparing students to participate in tomorrow’s rapidly changing technologies.
They are encouraged to think and intervene creatively to design and improve quality of life, to promote creative problem solving, and to create solutions using their practical skills.
The school offers a suite of facilities within Design and Technology including textile rooms for working with fabrics, food rooms for cooking and nutrition, two workshops for working with wood, plastics and metal, a computer room with a 3D printer and a laser cutter.
