About Us

The learning community at Corsham6th is vibrant, friendly and inclusive. Our first priority is to ensure that all students feel valued, supported, and highly informed about their potential pathways following post 16 education. We want students to develop a skill set that makes them a valued member of our Global Community.

We are passionate about creating independent learners and empowering students to embrace the many opportunities on offer to them. To do this we need to ensure our young people are given the chance to explore subjects in depth and develop a passion for learning, enjoy extra-curricular activities and Leadership opportunities.

We have high expectations of our Sixth Form students, who understand and take responsibility for their status as role models to the younger students within the school. We have a well established “Paired Reading” programme in place and also opportunities for mentoring younger students.

We place great emphasis on developing our students as a whole, and we know that Pastoral Care is as important in 6th form as it is in lower school. Each student is allocated to a tutor group, and they will have daily tutorial sessions which will allow the development of relationships with our experienced team of 6th form tutors.

We understand that grades are paramount to future pathways, however our students will also have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of valuable experiences outside the taught curriculum. This includes a weekly Enrichment session, an extensive “Core Programme” which covers PSHE topics and also additional courses such as EPQ and Mathematical Studies (“core maths”)
