About Us

The Corsham School is a fully comprehensive, mixed and inclusive 11-18 secondary school with 1110 students on roll of which 207 in the 6th form serving the small market town of Corsham and the surrounding villages. Wedged between Chippenham and Bath, The Corsham School is the only secondary school in the town and draws students from 8-10 primary schools from a wide geographical area covering parts of North Wiltshire and Bath and North East Somerset.

In 2012 the school was approached by the DfE to become a Sponsor Academy to support one of our local feeder Primary Schools, and successfully converted to a Multi Academy Trust in 2013; named the Corsham Schools Academy Group.

The vision for the school is to provide educational excellence for all learners in our community and much of the recent school improvement focus has been centred around a new drive on higher expectations.

In September 2019, the school was judged by Ofsted to be 'Good'. In October, the provisional national comparison Progress 8 measure (this score shows how much progress pupils at this school made between the end of key stage 2 and the end of key stage 4, compared to pupils across England who got similar results at the end of key stage 2) was published for The Corsham School as +0.12. This has improved from -0.34 in 2017 and -0.11 in 2018 and currently has us 4th best out of 38 Secondary providers in a 10-mile radius of Corsham, behind only to St Augustine’s (Trowbridge), Hayesfield Girls (Bath) and St Laurence (Bradford-On-Avon), but ahead of all other Chippenham and Bath schools.
