September 2026 Cohort – Orientation Day

On Tuesday 23 June, we were delighted to welcome prospective Year 12 students to The Corsham Sixth Form Orientation Day.

Although the day was unfortunately cut short due to the extreme heat and early school closure, students were still able to gain an insight into sixth form life and experience some of the opportunities available to them when they join us in September.

During the morning, students had the opportunity to:

  • Meet members of the Sixth Form team and fellow students
  • Experience taster sessions in some of their chosen subjects
  • Learn about key elements of our sixth form curriculum, including the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) and Core Maths
  • Begin their transition into sixth form study and gain a flavour of life at The Corsham Sixth Form

It was wonderful to see so many students engaging positively with the day and beginning to form friendships ahead of September.

Looking Ahead to September
Students and families may find the following information helpful as they prepare for the start of sixth form:

  • Sixth Form Prospectus - further information about our curriculum, subjects, enrichment opportunities and wider sixth form experience can be found in the Corsham Sixth Form Prospectus 2026.
  • Post-16 Transport - students aged 16 and over are not automatically entitled to free school transport. Families are encouraged to explore transport arrangements and available support as early as possible. Students from low-income households may be eligible for assistance through Wiltshire Council. Further details visit Wiltshire Council website: Applying for transport - Wiltshire Council
  • Student Support Fund (16–19 Bursary Fund) - The Corsham Sixth Form is committed to ensuring that financial circumstances do not become a barrier to education. The 16–19 Bursary Fund may provide support towards, travel costs, meals during the sixth form days, books, equipment and course-related expenses. Applications will open following GCSE Results Day and further information will be available on our website: Student Support Fund - The Corsham School
  • Transition Work - subject transition work will be published on our website during the summer term. Students will be contacted when materials become available: Transition Work
  • Enrolment Form - students joining us from other schools should complete the online SIMS enrolment form by 1 September 2026. Following GCSE Results Day, a copy of GCSE results should also be sent emailed to sixth form.

We Look Forward to Welcoming You

We would like to thank all students who attended Orientation Day and wish our future Year 12 students a relaxing summer and every success on GCSE Results Day. We look forward to welcoming you back to The Corsham Sixth Form in September and beginning the next stage of your journey with us.
