Webinars & Talks

Securing an apprenticeship starts with understanding the recruitment process. Ideal for prospective apprentices and those supporting them, this webinar provides a step-by-step look at what happens from application to appointment, along with practical tips on how to prepare. Attendees will also hear from the Emerging Talent Lead at the Met Office.

Thursday 12th November 2026, 15:30 – 16:15 - Register here

Registrations are open for the 2026-27 edition of Legal Cheek’s flagship virtual event series for Year 12 and 13 students (sixth formers) considering the solicitor apprenticeship route, in partnership with 24 leading law firms and The University of Law.

Register to attend. Just one registration is needed for both events.

It kicks off on Thursday 26 November 2026 (4:30pm to 6pm) with a solicitor apprenticeship application masterclass delivered by 12 leading law firms’ early careers teams covering the following topics: ‘Researching firms and building commercial awareness’, ‘Writing a winning application’ and ‘Looking ahead to assessment centres’. This will be followed by a virtual law fair with the firms.

The second session takes place on Thursday 14 January 2027 (4:30pm to 6pm), where current solicitor apprentices at 12 leading law firms will share what to expect on a solicitor apprenticeship, in a series of short workshops covering the following topics: ‘Perception v reality’, ‘City living and social life’ and ‘Looking ahead to qualification’. This will be followed by a virtual law fair with the firms.

Further details: Solicitor apprenticeship application masterclass, insight session and virtual fair: Future Lawyers Hub

In this live session, Lloyds Banking Group will take you through their application journey, what to expect at each stage, and the different online assessments you may encounter.

It's a really practical hour: you'll have a go at example questions yourself, hear from apprentices who've been through it, and leave knowing how to prepare, practise and approach your application with confidence.

Why practise now - online tests are often the stage where strong applicants slip up — usually because the format is new to them, not because they can't answer. Trying example questions before you apply takes the surprise out of it. Bring a pen and paper. You'll leave knowing what's coming and how to get ready for it.

Post-16 STEM Chats

Post-16 STEM Chats are informal sessions where students can connect with a diverse range of scientists. They take part in 2-way authentic encounters and ask they questions that they want to know the answers to.

Autumn term Chats allow students to engage in real-time conversation about their university choices and study beyond school.

Here is a registration link to access the Post 16 STEM Chats programme. https://imascientist.org.uk/reg/pu43uu62

As a reminder, these are drop-in Chats for students who are considering a STEM subject at university. They’ll run between 12pm and 1.30pm each Thursday. You can see more information, including the timetable here: https://imascientist.org.uk/post16-stem-chats/
