The Languages Department

We aim to deliver high quality languages at key stages 3, 4 & 5. We are looking to develop our KS3 curriculum, to increase the number of students who opt to study languages at GCSE. Languages are not currently compulsory at GCSE, but we usually run French, German and Spanish. We are looking to increase the numbers of students choosing these courses, so that uptake at A level increases. We currently run A level French and hope to offer A level Spanish in forthcoming years. In previous years we have run successful trips and exchanges to France and Germany and this year the languages department has teamed up with the History trip, to take year 8 to Normandy and helped out with the KS4 Barcelona trip.
