What is a blog?
A blog is short for Web log and essentially is an online diary of events or news
Why do I need a bloglines account?
The Corsham School blog is a digital version of our monthly newsletter, but will also contain the latest information about events happening at the school.
Rather than you having to remember to look at the website, the notifier automatically tells you when there is something new online.
Setting up a Bloglines account

Sign up for a new account with your email address (Time Zone is +0000 Greenwich Mean)

You will be sent a verification email by Bloglines. Click the link to validate your account

You will be asked to subscribe to a list of feeds. Be careful because Bloglines will automatically select a list of other feeds that you may not want. I would suggest not ticking any preferences when setting it up, just select Subscribe to My Selections

You will then get a list of Options. Leave them as the default, except you may want to change the access from Public to Private and ensure that the Monitor by Bloglines Notifier is ticked

Installing the Bloglines Notifier

Back in your Bloglines account, select the Feeds tab and scroll down until you see Open Notifier | Download Notifier (see picture above)

Select Download Notifier

Select the correct operating system (Microsoft Windows notifier)and follow the instructions to download onto your computer:

Once downloaded right click on the Notifier icon and check the Settings... are correct and enter your email address

The Notifier displays on the Task bar of your computer and will show a number if there is anything new to look at

Click on the notifier icon to see the latest news
