Students from The Corsham School have, once again, gained places at some the country’s most prestigious Universities.
Competition to join courses at institutions on the ‘Russell Group’ of leading universities list is increasingly fierce and it is truly inspiring to see our students moving from us into such renowned places of learning. In addition to Oxford and Cambridge, we are pleased to report that once again Corsham students are enjoying the challenges of degree courses at top universities across the country.
In the last two years alone, our students have gained places at the following ’Russell Group’ universities:
University College, London
Imperial College London
Many other places have been gained by Corsham leavers at a host of other universities and, as ever, the wide variety of courses is truly amazing. We wish them all well as they move into this exciting period of their lives. In addition to many traditional degrees in subjects as diverse as Maths, English, Physics and German, our students have gained places on some exciting sounding courses such as ‘International Relations with Chinese’ and ‘Marine Biology with Oceanography’ to name but two.
Alan Bolter (Head of 6th Form) comments on our current Year 13 university applicants, ‘The situation this year is already looking very promising. We have already written references for over 60 applicants and many of them have been contacted to be interviewed at this early stage (including several students who have applied for a course at Oxford or Cambridge). Some have already been given offers that are conditional on getting good grades at A Levels and three students have received unconditional offers after making really impressive applications’
