"Come to the edge, he said.
They said, we are afraid.
Come to the edge, he said.
They came. He pushed them...and they flew."
Every child deserves the best opportunities. At The Corsham School we aim to make every subject area a centre of excellence so that whatever a student’s special interest it will be well catered for.
Our curriculum, homework and study programme, clubs, visits and enrichment activities support our students towards their best academic, sporting and creative achievements.
Our success is reflected in excellent examination results and the involvement of our students in county and national sporting events, national poetry, science and technology competitions, superb drama and dance performances, and stunning displays of artwork.
Every student has talent and it is our job and pleasure to ensure that every individual achieves his or her potential. In the process we expect our students to develop as courteous, enterprising, creative, adaptable, thinking individuals.

Creativity & Deep Learning
As a visual arts college we distinguish between the physical activity of ‘making’ and the cognitive process of ‘creativity’
The cognitive process is best described by the definition taken from the DfES publication ‘All Our Futures’ which says that creativity is:
…imaginative activity fashioned so as to produce outcomes that are both original and of value.
Learning through making is a highly effective way to assist learning in its own right and the school’s unique feature The Making Room enables all subjects to take advantage of this.
